The WaterAid Global Campaigns team plays a leadership role across the WaterAid Federation to drive the design and delivery of WaterAid’s major advocacy and campaigns efforts to achieve SDG 6. We deliver an ambitious agenda, grounded in national level change and impact.
As our Advocacy Advisor, you will have a particular focus on increasing access to clean water, decent sanitation and hygiene in healthcare facilities and in communities off the back of the COVID-19 outbreak.

You will have strong political judgement, have excellent campaign networks that can be leveraged and be able to take complex policy and change processes and build compelling messaging and a clear campaign trajectory. You will have a track record of achieving political change in multiple countries and be adept at using an array of tactics including lobbying, public campaigning and the media.

This is a full time, permanent role. The location of this post is flexible to countries where WaterAid has an established office. A consideration will be that this post will spend a significant amount of time working with colleagues and team members based in the UK.

There will be some travel required, including to the UK if the person is located in another country.

The UK-based salary for this role is £41,210 - £43,400 (subject to experience) with excellent benefits. Salaries for different countries will vary in line with WaterAid’s country salary scales.

This is an office-based post in a country where WaterAid has a presence.  In particular, we are encouraging people with extensive experience of working in the Global South to apply. This post will have to work closely with colleagues and with line reports that are currently based in the UK, so time zones that make working in another country practicably feasible will be a consideration when choosing applicants.

WaterAid is located at 20 Canada Square, Canary Wharf. Due to current restrictions on office capacity the majority of our staff are working from home.  All aspects of this including how we are supporting homeworking and the office transition will be discussed at the interview stage with you.
